Overview
Hearthroot has two main selling paths. Merchants provide known offers and immediate decisions; the player Market provides listings and buy orders whose prices depend on other players.
Before You Sell
- Check the item's Used In section so you do not sell an input needed for your next upgrade.
- Treat Merchant value as a static baseline, not as a live Market price.
- Compare current sell listings and buy orders before accepting a player price.
- Account for the full input chain when judging whether a crafted output is profitable.
- Move long-term materials into shared Storage when another character may need them.
A Simple Rule
Keep materials tied to a near-term recipe or Journal requirement. Sell replaceable surplus when the silver unlocks a clearer improvement. Generated item, recipe, Merchant, and activity pages contain the exact static facts; the live Market remains the source for player prices.
